How big?
The size of your marquee will be determined by the number of guests, the type of event and the
planned site. However, as a rough idea:
- For a buffet event allow approximately 2 square metres per person
- For a seated event allow approximately 4 square metres per person
Extra space will be required if you install the dance floors, bar area and catering areas. We will help advise you on the best size to suit your event.
How long is your marquee hire period and when does the marquee go up?
For a weekend event, the marquee is yours for both Saturday and Sunday (unless otherwise specified). During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by arrangement.
For weekend events, marquees will normally be erected on the Thursday or Friday before the event and dismantled on the following Monday or Tuesday.
If you have a preference we will always try to accommodate this.
Will your marquee damage our garden?
Our installations are always careful when assembling and dismantling the marquee to ensure that lawns and gardens are left in good order. Grass that has been covered for a few days will not look at its best but recovery will be quick. We recommend that the lawn is mowed a few days prior to the marquee being assembled to keep damage to a minimum. We try to avoid excessive anchoring but in some circumstances it may be necessary from a health and safety point of view.
Can the sides of the marquee be removed?
Yes. If the weather is warm enough or you would like to take full advantage of the views, the marquee walls can very easily be removed to enhance the atmosphere of the day. It may be necessary to remove some walls in windy conditions to create a flow of air through the marquee.
How do I confirm a marquee booking?
Once you are happy with the quote, you will need to sign and return the booking form and terms and conditions and return them both with a cheque for 50% of the balance. The remaining balance is due on delivery.
For dry hire, payment is required on either collection or delivery.
How much will delivery cost?
Delivery and collection is free if your booking is valued at £250 or over and the installation address is within a 30 mile radius of our office. Over and above 30 miles we charge £1 per mile. If your booking is valued under £249.99 delivery and collection will be charged at £1 per mile.
Is the equipment insured?
Like most hire agreements, the hirer is responsible for insuring any hired equipment against any loss or damage whilst in their possession. Please check you have suitable insurance cover for the hire period. The hire period starts from the handover to the hand back as outlined in the booking paperwork. If you prefer, we can offer a competitive insurance quote to cover the hire period for peace of mind.
